As some of you may know, I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Winter in El Paso looks really different compared to most cities. Although we get occasional snow for a few days, we don’t have it all season long. However, that doesn’t mean our city can’t get festive with a bunch of cute decorations downtown! I thought it would be perfect to show you what my hometown looks like during the holidays and what a typical winter outfit for myself looks like. Every year I look forward to winter because I absolutely love bringing out my boots, scarfs, and wrapping myself up in oversized sweaters. I’m extremely sensitive to the cold, so I will wear anything and everything to keep me warm!
The three words I would use to describe my winter style are casual, comfy, and cozy. I usually go for dark/warm tones during winter, but I’ve found myself wearing and purchasing more pastels this year. Pastels are definitely more for the Springtime, but that doesn't mean that's the only time we can wear them. I especially love how pale and light-colored clothing looks against a snowy background. Pastels make everything more dainty. In this look, I paired a pink and purple pastel scarf from Lauren Conrad’s collection with a tan cardigan from American Eagle Outfitters. My top is a dark emerald green velvet tank with crisscross detailing in the front. Velvet is also really popular this year, and I think it’s the perfect fabric for any festive activities. If you ever doubted buying anything pastel during the winter time I hope you get inspiration from reading this post to test it out!
Happy Holidays! X
